Ishinryu Voices
Ishinryu Voices is the story of Ishinryu in words and pictures. It is the story of how Ishinryu competitors contributed to the rise of British Karate on the World stage. It is the story of how Britain conquered the world of Karate in the 1970’s and consolidated that lead through the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Above all, it is the story of individual Ishinryu members, and the contribution each made to our style. Some competed on the World stage; some opened their own clubs and some moved onto other interests and activities. Many continue to teach and train in our Dojos today.
Every member of Ishinryu has contributed to this story – a story that started in London in 1973. A story set to continue onwards and upwards.
