December General Grading

Next General Grading is at Barking Abbey on Sunday 6 December.

  • 11:30 – Check in
  • 12:00 – Grading to 4th and 3rd Kyu
  • 13:00 – Grading to 2nd and 1st Kyu
  • 14:30 – Dan Grades

You must bring your licence book containing proof of current license and grade.  Ishinryu badges must be worn.

Payments will be taken on the day as follows:

  • To 4th and 3rd Kyu – £25
  • To 2nd and 1st Kyu – £30
  • To 1st Dan – £50
  • To 2nd Dan – £60
  • To 3rd Dan – £75

2015 Open Summer Camp

Friday 19th June – Monday 22nd June 2015

The 40th Open Summer Camp ran over a long weekend starting Friday 19th June through to Monday 22nd June.  A great turn-out from Ishinryu students as well as guests from other styles.  Students from overseas were also well represented with a contingent from Ishinryu Australia led by sensei Bruce Hyland.






2016 Course Dates – Friday 24 June through Monday 27 June 2016.
You can book accommodation from July 2nd (call between 2.00 pm and 4.00 p.m). Make sure you mention the Karate course in order to get the special rate. VERY IMPORTANT that you book before September 1st to get the special discounted rate.  Click on the link below for accommodation details.

Regular Ishinryu Events

Each year Ishinryu clubs get the opportunity to train together at Ishinryu wide courses and events. Other styles are also welcome to attend providing they are English Karate Federation (EKF) members.

The UK annual timetable runs as follows:

  • February or March – One day Pre-grading course for 5th Kyu and above
  • June – Open Summer Camp at St Osyth (near Clacton) is a long weekend running from Friday through Monday.
  • October – One Day course.  All grades welcome for a day of intensive training
  • November – One day Pre-grading course for 5th Kyu and above

General gradings are held in March, June and December each year.  You must attend the Summer Camp for the June Grading.
